Very high quality wine glass. Tested with a 1er Cru Burgundy. Also, very responsive customer service from the seller.Grassl Glass, like Gabriel Glass, Zalto, Lehmann, Sophienwald, and the upper-echelon Riedels, are great glasses for the discerning oenophile. As a stemware aficionado myself I was eager to get my hands on some of these in order to test them against the Zalto Burgundy stems I currently use. I really enjoyed this silhouette and also appreciate the wider base. A word about fragility, though: these are very (very) fragile. I know how to handle delicate crystal stems as I exclusively use Zaltos, as well as Riedel Fatto a Manos and Superleggeros, but when hand-drying this glass just a few short hours after I had received it in the mail it shattered in my hand. Apparently, delicately swabbing the bowl with a Riedel microfiber cloth is juuuuust enough pressure to cause the bowl to shatter. This happens, of course, but for those of you who are not incredibly careful with their glassware....just skip out on these.Beautifully crafted, the Grassl Cru is one of a series of skilfully hand-blown wine glasses meant for the connoisseur of wine. "Unnerving" is the word I would choose to describe my feelings when I first held the glass; it feels like it might break under the pressure of one's own grasp. However, it is quite solid and dishwasher friendly - at least in my dishwasher. The balance is good. When filled to the appropriate level, this glass concentrates my Burgundies and other Pinot Noir so well that I easily pick up more aromas than I could with my Spiegelau Pinot Noir glasses (and they are nice!). Beyond the technical advantages, the glasses are quite appealing to the eye, and the broad base allows easy handling. As has been mentioned elsewhere, these glasses are extremely thin, even compared with Zalto. They are so delicate. That said, I absolutely love the cru glass for drinking burgundy. I'm a little disappointed that the price went up from $45 to $50 per stem, but it's still less expensive than Zalto, Gabriel Glas and others.Cheers!Great glass & customer service.Great GlassLovely glass. We drink quite a bit of wine and have been looking for something with similar characteristics to the Zalto Burgundy but smaller. The Grassl Cru is the solution! Just as light, just as elegant, but the bowl is smaller, and the focus on the nose is ideal. Hell of a deal at 30% off the Zalto price.Amazing glass stems. Hand made and hand blown. Tested against Zalto and these out performed them in almost every way and at a fraction of the cost! I now own 8 of these stems.
